SUMMARY:
The Manager of the Employee Resource Center is responsible for providing leadership and oversight in the development, implementation and administration of Human Resources practices that support the company’s initiatives and goals. The Employee Resource Center (ERC) Manager is responsible for all areas of Human Resources including compliance with employment laws, organizational development, talent acquisition and retention, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations and engagement, performance management, management training, and workers compensation programs. The ERC Manager also oversees the company’s Event Planning team and supervises all aspects of event planning. This position has subordinate employee(s) in the Employee Resource Center and General Office and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret, administer and comply with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations; conduct investigations and maintain required records.
- Manage organizational development in collaboration with executive management addressing organization design, succession planning, key employee retention, and superior workforce development.
- Talent acquisition and full-cycle recruiting including website management, application process, applicant screening, reference checking, job fair attendance, supporting managers with interviews and candidate selection, and communicating hiring decisions.
- Manage a strategic compensation plan in collaboration with executive management that attracts quality employees, incentivizes and rewards employee performance, and encourages employee retention.
- Oversee company compensation program by conducting periodic salary surveys to help recruit and retain outstanding talent, scheduling and conducting job evaluations, preparing pay budgets, monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions, and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
- Participate in the design of cost effective benefit plans that support our employees for success and attract and retain an outstanding workforce. Administer employee benefits programs including open enrollment and employee benefits education efforts; recommend benefit program changes based on employee satisfaction and retention concerns.
- Manages the Event Planning team by supervising, planning, guiding, and instructing on all aspects of the company’s established events. Suggests and implements new ideas throughout the year while being budget conscious.
- Creating and editing of company quarterly newsletter which can include: article writing, newsletter design, content creation, and distribution utilizing Canva.
- Champion of company culture, ensuring it supports attainment of company goals and initiatives and promotes employee engagement and satisfaction. Monitors employee perceptions of the company and informs executive management of significant issues that jeopardize achievement of company goals.
- Coordinate employee communications to ensure the company’s goals and objectives, strategic initiatives, policies and procedures, and benefit programs are clearly communicated, including periodic communications on progress toward attaining goals, status of strategic initiatives, and changes in policies, procedures and benefit programs.
- Oversee employee performance management program to ensure employee work results are monitored and evaluated by trained managers who provide constructive feedback, coach and discipline employees.
- Oversee employee development by establishing effective on-boarding practices for new employees; maintain current job descriptions for all positions; assess workforce training and management development needs; and design appropriate training programs and measure effectiveness.
- Oversee employee relations including resolution of employee grievances and counseling employees.
- Formulate, update, and recommend human resource policies and procedures; monitor legal and regulatory compliance.
- Manage the Employee Resource Center with a cost effective organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives; responsible for the employment, supervision, training, motivation and performance evaluations of direct reports in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.
- Implement, maintain and fully integrate a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to efficiently manage recruiting, attendance, email alerts, employee self-service, employee handbooks and other communications, organizational charts, benefits administration, succession planning, rapid report production, and tracking of employee training.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Interface with workers compensation third-party vendor to cost effectively manage workers compensation claims.
- Follow all safety and security policies and regulations.
- Back up department functions and perform other duties as necessary.
- Report to work on a regular and consistent basis.
REQUIRED ABILITY TO:
- Understand, analyze and apply knowledge of employment law, compensation and benefits, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, training and development.
- Lead day-to-day activities of a human resources department. Plan, organize and set clear expectations for a team and monitor progress by mentoring when required to achieve goals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of six (6) years’ of progressively responsible experience in a human resource department including at least three (3) to five (5) years supervisory experience and HRIS experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Canva.
- Mid-size and/or large business experience.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP certification.
- Familiarity with the aviation industry.
- Experience coordinating company events.
