Test Automation Developer

The Automation Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated QA tests to improve software testing processes. This role involves collaboration with QA analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, maintain test automation frameworks, and ensure high-quality software delivery within public sector health-related projects. The position requires expertise in automation tools, performance testing, and adherence to public sector standards and methodologies. Responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities for automation within software testing processes.
• Design, develop, and execute automated QA tests and test automation scripts.
• Utilize and maintain test automation frameworks such as Selenium.
• Collaborate with QA analysts, developers, architects, and product owners to establish effective test plans.
• Analyze and improve testing, DevOps processes, standards, and best practices.
• Provide technical support for test automation tools and frameworks.
• Participate in sprint retrospectives to identify QA process improvements.
• Evaluate and recommend test automation tools and processes to promote best practices.
• Create test data, analyze results, perform retesting, and ensure client acceptability.
• Document and maintain source control for automated testing assets and disaster recovery plans.
• Perform functional and non-functional testing of COTS solutions, APIs, web services, security components, and BI solutions.
• Conduct accessibility testing in compliance with WCAG 2.0 and AODA legislation.
• Log, track, and report defects using tools like Jira, Confluence, and TestRail.
• Participate actively in defect triage, walkthroughs, and cross-functional team meetings.

• 7+ years of experience in QA automation and testing.
• Proficiency with automation frameworks such as Selenium.
• Experience with enterprise-level performance testing tools like LoadRunner.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies in object-oriented environments.
• Experience with API testing tools such as SOAP-UI and POSTMAN.
• Proficient in at least one programming language.
• Experience with SQL and other data query languages.
• Familiarity with DevOps processes and agile methodologies.
• Experience in logging, tracking, and defect reporting using Jira, Confluence, or TestRail.
• Knowledge of public sector enterprise architecture, project management methodologies (PMI), and IT project approval processes.
• 5+ years experience working with public sector healthcare providers and health-related IT projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

• Experience with AI technologies in test automation.
• Knowledge and experience with Public Sector Health related projects.
• Experience with security testing including SAML and JWT.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools and standards.
• Experience with business intelligence (BI) solution testing.
• Experience producing technical documentation compliant with industry standards.

• Must adhere to public sector unified I&IT project methodology and gating processes.
• Work must comply with ministry policies and IT project approval requirements.
• Testing automation assets must be under source control with disaster recovery plans.
• Strong customer service skills including tact and diplomacy are required.

• Onsite position requiring 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
• Standard working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding lunch breaks.
• Work performed at designated OPS office location.
