Interventional Radiology Technologist Requirements

• At least 18 months of permanent experience in Interventional Radiology before beginning a travel assignment
• Current radiologic technology credentials appropriate for interventional radiology practice
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• All required licenses and certifications must be active and in good standing at the time of submission
• Permanent Ohio licensure in hand at the time of submission, or an eligible compact license when applicable
• One professional reference from a manager, supervisor, assistant nurse manager, or director in the specialty
• Ability to complete required orientation, competency assessments, background screening, and pre-employment health and safety requirements

IR Technologist Responsibilities

• Assist with interventional radiology procedures by preparing the procedure room, imaging equipment, and supplies
• Operate and support radiologic imaging equipment in accordance with department protocols and radiation-safety standards
• Prepare, position, and monitor patients before, during, and after image-guided procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and support infection-prevention practices throughout procedures
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, technologists, and other members of the interventional radiology team
• Verify patient identification, procedure details, and required documentation
• Monitor equipment function, maintain accurate records, and promptly communicate patient or equipment concerns
• Provide professional, compassionate care while promoting patient safety and comfort
