General Manager - Restaurants

Job Overview Onvo is a network of travel plazas, restaurants, and hotels with locations throughout Pennsylvania and New York. We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic General Manager (GM) for Restaurants to lead a fast‑paced food service environment and create a great experience for guests. Responsibilities Lead the restaurant’s management team to oversee financial controls, operations, people development, and customer service across all shifts. Maintain a motivated, courteous team that serves customers quickly and with a sense of urgency. Work long and irregular shifts, including extra hours as needed, while staying calm in a hectic environment. Ensure all food quality standards, ServSafe guidelines, and customer service expectations are met and food safety inspections are passed. Employ and train a well‑staffed team of customer‑service associates to meet guest needs promptly. Schedule adequate staffing levels to match anticipated traffic and address any performance issues through retraining or disciplinary action. Maintain a facility that is consistently “inspection ready” in all areas, comply with Department of Health, internal company, and brand inspections, and conduct daily safety inspections and emergency response protocols. Enforce sanitary practices and general cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas; supervise portion control to minimize waste; keep the restaurant’s image professional with clean premises and proper uniforms. Maintain adequate stock levels, follow product display and rotation standards, and use efficient inventory receiving procedures. Drive sales growth and cost control, manage labor and cash budgets, and control expenses that impact profitability. Ensure compliance with brand standards, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and succeed in internal audits and brand-sponsored inspections. Set and achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals and forecasts to exceed budgeted expectations. Show active community involvement through the restaurant and its personnel. Qualifications ServSafe certified and experience in food service operations. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team. Experience managing budgets, inventory, and labor in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work irregular shifts and remain calm under pressure.
