REGISTERED NURSE: University Hospital (Central Staffing Resources Adult Telemetry Cluster)

Job Summary This is a Central Staffing Resource RN position which involves staffing assignments in the Adult Telemetry Cluster. The RN will be part of the Central Staffing Resource Department, caring for patients in seven adult units requiring cardiac monitoring. Responsibilities Provide safe and effective nursing care for patients from surgical, medical, and cardiac step‑down units. Determine functional status, initiate appropriate action, and report significant changes. Administer medications and treatments, assist with diagnostic procedures, and monitor patient response. Identify problems and initiate interventions. Operate and monitor patient care equipment. Document patient care and patient status changes. Educate patients and families about disease process and therapeutic plan. Formulate individual care plans and evaluate nursing care. Participate in patient safety, health team activities, research studies, and quality assurance activities. Required Qualifications Current Michigan Registered Nurse License Minimum 18 months of recent RN experience with adult telemetry patients Must be able to pass the CSR EKG exam at the interview with at least 80% Desired Qualifications Current ACLS Certification BSN preferred Demonstrated communication and problem‑solving skills within all levels of the health care team Effective delegation skills in a team atmosphere Accountable and dependable, evidenced by completion of mandatories and unit‑based competencies Experience floating to multiple units is helpful Benefits Excellent medical, dental, and vision coverage 2:1 match on retirement savings with immediate vesting Generous paid time off allowances Robust tuition and certification support programs Large offering of no‑cost continuing education and professional development for advancement Salary and Shift Hourly rate for Registered Nurses: $41.78–$64.81 per hour. CSR RNs receive an additional $2.50 per hour differential and are not required to work holidays. Shift differentials: Evening Shift: $3.00 per hour Night Shift: $4.00 per hour Day Shift Weekend: $2.90 per hour Evening Shift Weekend: $5.90 per hour Night Shift Weekend: $6.90 per hour Charge Nurse: $1.00 per hour Union Affiliation This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Michigan and the Michigan Nurses Association, as well as the U‑M Professional Nurse Council.
