Youth Mentor (Full Time & Part Time)

Job Description

Job Description

Be the Adult You Wish Every Kid Had.

Not every hero wears a cape.

Sometimes they're coaching basketball after school. Sometimes they're helping a young person through a hard day. Sometimes they're simply showing up when no one else does.

At Anderson Health Services, we're looking for mentors, role models, coaches, and future leaders to help young men build confidence, resilience, and life skills that can change the direction of their lives.

If you want a job where you can make an impact, build leadership skills, stay active, and be part of something bigger than yourself, keep reading.

Why This Job Is Different

This isn't sitting behind a desk.

This isn't staring at a screen all day.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with youth who need positive adults in their corner.

Every day brings something different:

• Coaching and mentoring

• Team activities and recreation

• Building confidence and life skills

• Supporting emotional growth

• Being part of breakthrough moments that matter

You'll help young people develop the tools they need to succeed while gaining real-world experience that can launch a career in behavioral health, counseling, education, social work, youth development, or leadership.

A Day in the Life

As a Youth Mentor, you will:

• Build meaningful relationships with young men
• Mentor and coach youth through real-life challenges
• Lead activities, games, fitness, recreation, and skill-building exercises
• Help youth strengthen confidence, emotional regulation, and decision-making skills
• Encourage accountability, responsibility, and personal growth
• Create safe, structured, and supportive environments
• Work alongside therapists, clinicians, and experienced leaders
• Celebrate progress and milestones, both big and small

No two days are exactly the same.

And the impact you make is real.

What's In It For You?

• Competitive pay ($18-$21/hour)
• Flexible full-time and part-time schedules
• Paid training and professional development
• Leadership and mentorship experience
• Work that actually means something
• Career-building experience for future counselors, teachers, coaches, social workers, psychologists, and human service professionals
• A supportive team that wants you to succeed

We'd Love to Meet You If You Are...

• A former athlete, coach, mentor, or team leader
• Someone others naturally look to for guidance
• Comfortable setting expectations and holding people accountable
• Calm and confident under pressure
• Passionate about helping young people succeed
• Looking for a career with purpose, not just a paycheck

The Impact You'll Make

For some youth, you may be the person who teaches them:

• How to stay calm under pressure
• How to make better choices
• How to believe in themselves
• How to overcome challenges
• How to become the person they want to be

Years from now, they may not remember every conversation.

But they'll remember who believed in them.

That could be you.
