Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Labor and Delivery Nurse, located in a healthcare facility, provides specialized perinatal nursing care within the Labor and Delivery Department. This role entails practicing independently while demonstrating awareness of all relevant clinical aspects, delivering both routine and complex care, and coordinating patient management effectively. Job Details Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; current RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state; certification from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) in Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM); current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA; current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Experience: 0 years required; experience in a perinatal setting or a recent practice in perinatal nursing is preferred. Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Responsibilities: Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients; address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families; administer medications and treatments according to protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness; document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided; assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources. Certification Requirements: All newly hired experienced Registered Nurses must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire, complete organizational entry competency validation, and fulfill all annual competency verification requirements.
