Assistant Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA implements established treatment plans, monitors patient progress, provides education, documents care, and supports positive rehabilitation outcomes.Key responsibilities include:Provide physical therapy interventions according to the established plan of care and Tennessee regulations.Perform therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, functional activities, gait and balance training, and other interventions within scope.Provide manual therapy and modalities when trained, authorized, and permitted by law.Monitor patient responses and promptly report changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.Reinforce home exercise programs and patient education.Assist with reassessments and plan-of-care management as directed.Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation.Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, therapists, and staff.Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable regulations.Qualifications include:Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.Current, unrestricted Tennessee PTA license.Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain.Approximately 3 years of PTA experience preferred.Outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred.Experience with sports, post-operative, spine, balance, or musculoskeletal rehabilitation.Dry needling training/experience preferred.Additional training in manual therapy, taping, cupping, or related techniques is a plus, as permitted by law and company policy.
