Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Circulate in the OR — required skill; candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K (thighs) injections, and newborn assessments — required skill; candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring in accordance with AWHONN guidelines
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, with high-risk L&D experience required
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Demonstrated competency in OR circulation and newborn care (eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, newborn assessments)
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered as a local candidate; locals are welcome

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification
• Experience in high-volume delivery settings (unit averages 500–600 deliveries per month)
