job summary:

Category Sourcing Manager for a global leader in mobility products and services. This role is responsible to lead and develop sourcing, category, and procurement strategies for the direct categories focused on raw materials, purchased finished products, and manufactured assemblies.

This is an on-site contract job opportunity based in Germantown, TN OR Atlanta, GA.

responsibilities:

• Lead and develop sourcing, category, and procurement strategies for the direct categories focused on mechanical areas
  
  
• Develop strategic category roadmaps, which include identifying and developing new suppliers.
  
  
• Review electronic assembly BOMs, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to determine strategic sourcing decisions
  
  
• Monitors overall supplier performance with assigned categories and develops & implements corrective action
  
  
• Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities for assigned categories
  
  
• Provide technical direction within the electrical categories by evaluating and guiding product strategy throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycle
  
  
• Conduct and assess RFQs/RFPs/RFIs, negotiations, supplier evaluations, and determine supplier selection

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration

• Eight (8+) years of category management, strategic sourcing, and procurement experience

• Experience leading category strategy and supplier performance across manufacturing materials

• Experience determining supplier selection for direct spend on mechanical related categories

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, Word, Visio), SAP, Oracle and/or Ariba
