Position Details Department: Atrium Health Cleveland - Specialty Float Pool Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 36 Schedule Details / Additional Information: Full time - 3 12‑hour shifts per week Night Shift - 7p‑7a Rotating weekends; holidays per policy Pay Range: $19.80 - $29.70 Responsibilities Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation with therapeutic assistive devices, positioning, range of motion, and special transfers as needed. Measure and document blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O, daily weights, and other patient data accurately in EMR. Perform purposeful rounding under RN direction and promptly communicate observations, concerns, and patient/family needs to RN; document appropriately. Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision, including room setup, orientation, linen removal, and management of patient belongings; ensure call light is reachable and answered promptly. Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and perform point‑of‑care testing with proper labeling and identification; maintain competency. Complete errands such as pick‑up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports; maintain and order stock for nursing area; clean equipment and work areas. Perform patient positioning and transport duties requiring lifting, pushing/pulling, using proper technique and assistive devices; assist with nutritional needs under RN direction (diet review, tray setup/removal, positioning). Maintain skin integrity with repositioning, skin care; provide special supplies such as TED hose and sequential compression devices. Under RN direction and unit needs, remove IVs, provide post‑mortem care, and perform bladder scans. Practice infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene, sterile/aseptic procedures, disposal of contaminated materials, and appropriate attire for isolated patients. Demonstrate knowledge and skills for age‑appropriate patient care, assessing status data, and interpreting information to identify patient-specific needs. Qualifications High School graduate, GED, or HSED. No experience required. Basic computer skills. Excellent oral and written communication. Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities. Maintain annual educational requirements for hospital‑based certifications (e.g., DNV, CARF). Licensure: Nurse Aide in good standing, State Registry. BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA required within 45 days. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders. Lifting up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, 20 lbs. over head, and carrying up to 40 lbs. over a reasonable distance. Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force. Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Use foot pedals on carts or machines. Functional vision and hearing required. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards; protective clothing required for blood and body fluids. Operate equipment necessary to perform the job.
