- Conduct assessments for patients across age groups using standardized tests and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to design integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to bolster progression beyond therapy sessions.
- Engage in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care from assessment to recovery.
- Keep meticulous, timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Enhance your expertise through continuous education and engagement with fellow professionals.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all developmental stages, coupled with a deep understanding of both acquired and developmental speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
- Exceptional communicative competence with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy approaches to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
