The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position Background as an art department alum or active member of the local arts community, with demonstrated experience in ceramics Working knowledge of safe operation of pottery wheels and kilns, glaze mixing and application, and general ceramics studio safety practices Strong interpersonal skills; ability to establish a positive, respectful rapport with high school students Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment when supervising students without a certified teacher present Reliability; consistent attendance and punctuality Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills Prior experience in the Somerville High School Ceramics Program (as an alum) or equivalent ceramics studio experience in the community, strongly preferred Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
