- Positioning competency
- Knowledge of breast self-examinations
- Experience in radiologic mammography procedures
- Familiarity with stereotactic biopsies and clip placements

Description:
The Mammography Technologist performs radiographic mammography procedures.
These procedures produce high-quality diagnostic films for detecting breast tissue abnormalities.
This position functions with a level of independence that does not require constant supervision.
The role entails a variety of tasks that need independent judgment, creativity, and initiative.
You will ensure proper patient identification and order verification.
Preparation of the patient for exams is essential.
Mammography exams will be performed according to department protocols, including advanced procedures.
You will operate mammographic equipment to ensure high-quality diagnostic images are produced.
Appropriate use of equipment and techniques is necessary to obtain the required images.
You will implement radiation protection measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Meeting all ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) program requirements is crucial.
Staying current on new procedures and equipment is required to maintain high skill levels.
You will maintain records as required by regulatory bodies.
Thorough and accurate completion of all necessary documentation, including time stamps and image storage, is expected.
