Pediatric BMT Physician Opportunity

The Pediatric BMT Team seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician to successfully provide care to both the inpatient and outpatient pediatric population at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital receiving treatment with autologous or allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant, CAR T-cell therapy, or Gene Therapy.

A successful candidate will work within the highly functional BMT space caring for patients from infancy through young adult within the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital locations. Join a collaborative team of total of 3 Physicians, 4 APPs, Clinical Coordinators, Pediatric Pharmacists, MSW, and intake coordinators working across in-patient and out-patient care within the BMT setting.

Essential Functions

• Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
• HSCT experience, some experience with CAR T-cell therapy and Gene Therapy preferred.
• Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
• Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
• Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
• Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
• Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
• Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient / family advocate.
• Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development / application of clinical paths, process improvement, and other related activities.
• Actively works with Corewell Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

• CRT- BC in Pediatrics, BC/BE Pediatric Hematology/Oncology or Pediatric Immunology/Allergy
• LIC-MD/DO State of Michigan
• CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS)
