Human Resources Coordinator

Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking a People Data/Human Resources Coordinator to join their New York office. This role offers a unique opportunity to support both HR data operations and a long-term data curation initiative focused on maintaining the quality, accuracy, and integrity of critical datasets. Working closely with senior team members and cross-functional partners, this individual will play a key role in managing employee and contractor data throughout the employee lifecycle, executing data mapping projects, performing audits, and contributing to process improvements. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and eager to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Support ongoing data curation and data mapping initiatives ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems. Maintain and update employee and contractor records throughout the employee lifecycle. Perform data entry, validation, and retrieval while identifying and resolving duplicate or inconsistent records. Run and design audit processes to ensure data integrity and compliance. Partner with internal stakeholders to improve existing HR data processes and workflows. Facilitate administrative onboarding activities for employees and contingent workers. Prepare and maintain employee documentation, contracts, consulting agreements, NDAs, and statements of work. Initiate and monitor background checks and coordinate first-day onboarding activities. Monitor contractor engagements and upcoming contract expirations, partnering with business teams on extensions as needed. Process vendor invoices and manage relationships with agencies supporting contract employees. Prepare employment verifications and maintain electronic and paper records. Partner with People Analytics teams to deliver reporting and support data analysis initiatives. Conduct comparative analyses and research projects as needed. Work extensively within HR systems and Excel to analyze, organize, and maintain data. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in large datasets. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow. High level of maturity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in data analysis, data management, or HR operations. Experience with Workday, Oracle HR, or other HRIS platforms. Familiarity with Tableau or reporting tools. Exposure to contract administration and invoice processing.
