Store Cleaning Associate

Job Description The HomeGoods store is seeking a cleaning associate to maintain a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care. Responsibilities include operating the scrubber and buffer, dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows. The associate will adhere to all operational, merchandising, and loss prevention standards, and will be cross‑trained to support multiple areas of the store as needed. Responsibilities Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers. Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect. Maintain floor‑care cleanliness standards, including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer. Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store (sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms). Adhere to all health‑and‑safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end. Cross‑train in other areas of the store (backroom, front end, sales floor). Support and respond to all front‑end coverage needs. Adhere to merchandising philosophy and signage standards. Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day. Adhere to all operational and loss‑prevention controls, including shrink reduction. Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates. Adhere to all labor‑law policies and procedures, including meal and break periods. Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent customer‑service skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber. Capability to multitask. Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including listening and responding appropriately. Capability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation. Team‑player, working effectively with peers and supervisors. Retail customer‑experience experience preferred.
