Salary:
West Virginia Junior College is seeking an experienced and motivated Sonography Program Director to lead the development and launch of a newSonography/Ultrasound Program. This innovative program is designed to address the growing workforce need for skilled sonographers across West Virginia through a flexible hybrid-online delivery model.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in expanding access to high-quality sonography education while making a lasting impact on students, healthcare partners, and the regional workforce.
About the Program
The Sonography Program will combine engaging online instruction with hands-on clinical education through partnerships with local healthcare providers. This model offers students meaningful, real-world experience while supporting todays working learners and meeting the needs of the healthcare community.
Position Responsibilities
The Sonography Program Director will be responsible for:
- Leading the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Sonography program
- Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and industry best practices
- Overseeing curriculum development, faculty, and clinical partnerships
- Supporting student success through academic and clinical excellence
- Collaborating with internal teams and external healthcare partners
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree or higher
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification, with appropriate credential(s) in one or more of the following concentrations:Abdominal,OB/GYN
- Three (3) years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer
- Teaching experience in an accredited sonography program, either as an appointed faculty member or aclinical preceptor
Full-time position, core hours 8am-4pm. PTO available, no insurance benefits. Required to live within a commutable distance of lab/clinical locations in West Virginia.
