Speech Language Pathologist - SLP Specialist
Transform Lives Through Communication in the Exciting City of Brotherly Love – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine embarking on a career where your expertise as a Speech Language Pathologist not only resolves communication and swallowing disorders, but actually gives a voice to those who need it most. Join a team in Philadelphia, a dynamic and historic city, where your role will make a lasting impact, from helping toddlers articulate their first words to empowering seniors in regaining their independence and self-expression.
In this fulfilling position, you'll work with a wonderfully diverse range of patients across all age groups. This blend of outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support provides an ideal platform for those passionate about pediatric speech and language development, adult communication challenges following neurological events, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation in the elderly. Your passion for enriching lives will bring great satisfaction and a flexible work environment.
Conduct thorough evaluations of clients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observation.
Create tailored treatment plans that focus on both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing concerns in a one-on-one setting.
Engage in collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families for unified care approaches.
Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress during and outside of scheduled therapy sessions.
Take part in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
Document patient progress accurately and punctually, adhering to state, federal, and institutional regulations.
Stay abreast of developments in the field via ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be completed within 30 days of hiring.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment strategies across all age groups, with a comprehensive understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal traits for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Capability to adapt therapy methods to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical decision-making aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and established documentation processes.
Attractive remuneration based on experience.
Flexible hours for optimal work-life harmony and varied patient demographics.
Chances to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) alongside paid holidays.
Health, dental, vision, and life insurance options available.
Support for continuing education and professional growth.
A cooperative, team-centered atmosphere focused on delivering superior care and promoting ongoing learning.
A Journey of Growth Awaits You — Both Personally and Professionally
Your role will do far more than provide therapy — you'll integrate into a community initiative dedicated to empowering voices, enhancing communication, and fostering happiness through the most fundamental act of human interaction: understanding one another.
Join a team where clinicians support each other like family, in an environment that champions collaboration over competition. With every patient comes a narrative; you will be entrusted with the opportunity to help articulate these stories.
Why Philadelphia Is the Place for You
Philadelphia offers a unique lifestyle where rich history meets vibrant modern living. With its iconic landmarks and flourishing cultural scene, you will find that everyday life here vibrates with excitement. Enjoy a plethora of local festivals, live performances, and art exhibits that showcase the creative spirit of the city.
Families revel in community picnics and outdoor concerts, while outdoor enthusiasts indulge in abundant parks and inviting waterfronts. A food lover's paradise, Philadelphia tempts your taste buds with everything from famous cheesesteaks to artisan eateries that take culinary exploration to the next level.
The city pulsates with a lively energy that reflects in its diverse neighborhoods, where each block tells its own story through street art and the melodies of local artists. Coupled with a thriving economy and a relatively low cost of living, along with no state income tax, Philadelphia is a prime location for career growth.
Whether you are a new graduate or a seasoned professional, the opportunities for both personal and professional development here are boundless.
Seeking Passionate Caregivers
We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who is motivated not only by superior results but also by compassion. Someone who perceives a quiet child and envisions their future filled with expressive words, or who listens to the hesitant voice of a stroke survivor and sees resilience.
Your background may be rooted in pediatric care, and you are excited to broaden your expertise in adult services, or perhaps you're an adult neuro specialist aspiring to incorporate pediatric techniques into your skillset. No matter your specialization, if you are eager to engage with empathy and skill, we want to meet you.
Let's Communicate to Change Lives
If you understand that speech is more than mere vocalizations, and that therapy transcends simple tasks — if you believe in building trust before pursuing goals and value laughter as much as meaningful conversation — then this position may be the next fulfilling chapter of your career.
Join us in a community that champions communication, connection, and the courage it takes to move forward. Apply today to add your voice to our mission — and help others discover their own.
