Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to college record keeping prepare accurate and timely financial statements and ensure appropriate internal accounting control.

• Identifies analyzes and implements processes to maximize utilization of the financial accounting and financial reporting systems College-wide; designs maintains and makes available accounting system reports and reports and specialized financial system information as needed for decision-making and analysis.
• Acts as liaison with all external auditors engaged in auditing College accounts or external funded grants and contracts.
• Prepares and maintains complex monthly reconciliations of the Colleges multiple bank accounts and fixed assets as well as balance sheet accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
• Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP and ICCB rules.
• Keeps abreast of the various federal and/or state funding agency regulations generally accepted accounting principles and ensures their provisions are incorporated into the Colleges accounting and budgeting systems and in its financial reporting.
• Assists in preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
• Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met.
• Prepares financial management reports.
• Ensures accurate and timely monthly quarterly and year end close.
• Analyzes and advises on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends financial commitments and future revenues.
• Processes and prepares journal entries.
• Prepares and analyzes new accounting statements and prepares procedure to implement.
• Develops procedures for department.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education
  • Bachelors Degree with a major in Accounting required.
  • Masters Degree or CPA preferred.

• Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a fund accounting environment preferred.

Hiring Range:
11 Salary Starting salary beginning at $66487 based on education and experience
