Senior Accountant

Description

SAIC has an opening for a Senior Accountant in support of highly critical customer activities supporting our national security. In this role you will act as the senior member of a team of accountants responsible for assessing technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas.

**   Your responsibilities include:**

• Perform technical accounting research on transactions of substantial size

• Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reporting and executive summaries

• Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements and determine impacts

• Assist in the drafting of new/updated global accounting policies

• Provide analysis and support to external auditors

• Perform corporate tax analysis and review of federal state and local tax filings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this position

• Certified Public Accountant certification maintained in good standing

• 18+ years accounting/auditing experience, preferably in support of government activities

• Demonstrated performance executing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics

• Demonstrated ability to navigate and interpret relevant authoritative literature to evaluate and recommend solutions

• Exceptional communication skills

• Strong organizational and management skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Willingness to conduct domestic travel up to 10% of time

• Ability to act as the subject matter expert on a team of accountants and advise the customer on actions with vendors

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
