Accounting Assistant
$28 - $30 per hourSHR Talent
SHR Talent is partnering with a real estate organization in the Milwaukee, WI area to hire a Temporary Accounting Assistant for an assignment beginning in December 2026 and continuing through April 2027.
The Temporary Accounting Assistant will support day-to-day accounting operations with a primary focus on commission payroll processing and journal entries. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accuracy while working with time-sensitive financial information.
Position Details
- Temporary assignment: December 2026 – April 2027
- Location: Milwaukee, WI area
- Compensation: $28–$30 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily commission payroll accurately and within established deadlines
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Review accounting information and supporting documentation for accuracy
- Research and assist with resolving discrepancies
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the accounting team
- Assist with additional accounting functions and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, or a related function
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and journal entries
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet daily deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
