If you have a passion for ensuring accurate specimen collection and providing excellent patient service, this could be your next rewarding role.ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles, ensuring patient comfort and sample integrityLabel, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens according to established procedures and test requirementsExplain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously to patientsAccurately match laboratory requisitions with specimens, ensuring proper labeling and documentationPackage specimens for transport, maintaining sample integrity by following specific temperature and handling protocolsRecord maintenance data, update patient information, and perform decontamination and cleaning of equipmentFollow OSHA, DEP regulations, and PPE requirements to maintain a safe work environmentAttend annual training sessions and stay current with departmental protocols and proceduresAnswer phone inquiries and relay laboratory results as needed, providing excellent service and supportPerform other duties as assigned to support laboratory operationsRequired SkillsExperience performing blood draws and specimen collectionKnowledge of laboratory specimen handling and processing proceduresExcellent communication skills for explaining procedures and interacting with patientsAttention to detail to ensure accurate labeling and documentationAdditional Skills & RequirementsCertification as a Phlebotomy Technician is preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting is preferredAbility to work Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pmKnowledge of OSHA and DEP regulations and proper PPE useBring your expertise and dedication to a team committed to high-quality patient care.
