Assistant Head Cook

Position Type Food Service/ Cook’s Helper Date Posted 7/20/2026 Closing Date Apps reviewed immediately Work Hours 8.0 hours per day (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a half hour break) Monday through Friday, 172 contract days (170 student contact plus 2 inservice days prior to the school year) beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Job Duties Assist Head Cook in preparing/serving food, and cleanup following lunch and breakfast. Take over when the head cook is absent. Help head cook manage inventory and staff. Qualifications Must be Serve Safe certified or able to obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment. Good communication skills and dependable. Ability to adjust to change quickly, work at a fast pace, and multi-task, fill out order guides and production records accurately, and work with all staff in a professional manner. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in extreme temperatures (i.e. heat, freezer). Knowledge of the following equipment: fryers, slicer, mixers, steamers and ovens. Salary and Benefits Salary based on the 2025-2027 School Support Employees' Agreement Level VI from $22.64 up to $25.07 per hour. Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions.
