The practice is known for delivering personalized primary eye care and contact lens services in a welcoming, patient‑focused environment, making it an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist who values relationship‑based care and wants to contribute to a long‑standing, trusted practice. What You'll Do In this full‑time role, you will provide comprehensive primary eye care in a busy, established private practice, seeing approximately 20 patients per day. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and managing ocular disease, prescribing glasses and contact lenses, performing contact lens fittings and follow‑up care, educating patients on eye health, and maintaining accurate clinical records. Working closely with trained staff, the doctor will help deliver a smooth, high‑quality patient experience while utilizing modern technology, including Optos/widefield retinal imaging, a digital refractor, an automated refractor/keratometer, an automatic lensometer, and EHR/practice management software. This position offers 40 hours per week. Who You Are The ideal candidate has a Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school, a current unrestricted New Mexico optometry license, and current DEA registration. This role is well‑suited for a compassionate, patient‑focused professional with strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of care, and a genuine commitment to delivering an excellent patient experience. Experience in primary care optometry and contact lenses is preferred, along with a collaborative approach to working with opticians, technicians, and administrative staff to support seamless care and a positive practice environment.
