Registered Dental Hygienist

The Registered Dental Hygienist at the Free Clinic of Central Virginia provides high-quality preventive dental care and education to underserved and uninsured patients, supporting the clinic’s mission through compassionate, culturally competent service.

Responsibilities: Include performing cleanings, periodontal assessments, radiographs, and sealants, as well as educating patients on oral hygiene and disease prevention. The hygienist collaborates with dentists and clinical staff to develop individualized care plans, maintains accurate patient records, and ensures compliance with infection control and safety protocols.

Qualified candidates: Must hold a current Virginia RDH license and CPR/BLS certification; local anesthesia certification and experience working with diverse or underserved populations preferred. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented, adaptable professional with strong communication skills and a deep commitment to patient dignity, confidentiality, and equitable access to care.
