Credit Specialist

Great Company. Great People. Great Opportunities. As a Credit Specialist at United Rentals, you will assess, negotiate, and collect on open account receivables. This is a non‑remote position requiring presence in or near the Charlotte, NC metro area. You will act as the liaison between customers and branches, maintaining positive relationships and meeting the goals of the Credit Playbook/Credit Management team. What You’ll Do Meet established goals and objectives as determined by the Credit Playbook. Achieve all metrics, including contacting customers and collecting past‑due balances via telephone, email, facsimile, and automated collection letters. Collect, review, evaluate, and prepare credit recommendations for the Credit Supervisor. Assist in negotiating payment arrangements and plans. Communicate progress and concerns with the Credit Management Team regularly. Collaborate with field operations to review and resolve customer billing issues and disputes. Respond to additional information requests, invoicing, billing, documentation requests, and disputes raised by customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (preferred). 3‑5 years of related finance experience, preferably collections. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. Ability to complete complex account reconciliations with a customer‑focused approach. Experience with web‑based workflow solutions (preferred). Strong math and verbal/written communication skills.
