Believe it when we say "We Pave with Pride!". Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Shop Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel‑powered vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations. Work will primarily be performed in a shop setting. Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines and related systems. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication. Repair and replace worn or defective parts (e.g., engines, transmissions, brakes, fuel systems, cooling systems). Use diagnostic tools and software to identify engine faults and performance issues. Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and service reports. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and industry standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas. Operate equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and cranes when needed. Stay updated with new diesel technologies and service procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred. 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience (shop or field). Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read technical manuals and interpret wiring diagrams. Valid driver's license; CDL a plus. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.
