Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide clinical and administrative support in a medical office setting. The ideal candidate will have current BLS certification, a valid Medical Assistant credential, and the ability to assist with patient examinations, diagnostic testing, documentation, and routine clinic operations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Valid Medical Assistant certification from one of the following organizations:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-NHA) – National Healthcareer Association.

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-NCCT) – National Center for Competency Testing.

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-AAMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants.

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA-AMT) – American Medical Technologists.

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA-NAHP) – National Association for Health Professionals.

  • American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).

  • National Certification Medical Association (NCMA).

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing and lifting, pushing, and pulling as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms, treatment areas, medical supplies, and instruments.

• Prepare patients for physician visits and examinations; obtain and record vital signs and patient histories.

• Perform EKGs, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), audiometry, Titmus tests, phlebotomy, urine drug screens (UDS), Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT), and other laboratory tests as authorized and competency-validated.

• Assist with medical procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries.

• Perform medication reconciliation and screen and follow up on test results.

• Maintain accurate patient records, organize medical documentation, and update electronic practice management systems.

• Conduct telephone and in-person patient screenings and communicate patient information to licensed medical practitioners as directed.

• Schedule appointments, admissions, and procedures; obtain and enter patient demographic and financial information.

• Assist with billing, collections, inventory management, and routine maintenance of clinical and administrative equipment.

• Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention while maintaining confidentiality and adapting care to individual patient needs.
