CMM Programmer – Quality & Inspection | Defense & Commercial Manufacturing Location: Skokie, IL (On-site) Pay: $30–$40/hour + up to 15 hours optional overtime per week Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM Overview A stable manufacturer serving both commercial and defense markets is adding a CMM programmer to a close-knit quality team. The facility runs Brown and Sharpe DCC CMMs across three models using PC-DMIS. Existing programs are in place but need operator-friendly revisions, and new programs will be developed as production demands grow. This is a hands‑on, fully onsite role covering first‑piece inspections, incoming vendor checks, and full assembly evaluations. As the team expands, this person will also take on a training role with incoming CMM operators, so the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively matters as much as the technical skills. What the Job Involves Write, revise, and maintain CMM programs in PC-DMIS across multiple Brown and Sharpe DCC units Perform first-piece inspections on CNC machining setups and incoming vendor parts Conduct full assembly inspections including GD&T evaluation on complex components Revise existing programs to improve operator usability and overall efficiency Evaluate current CMM equipment and provide recommendations on controller upgrades as needed Train incoming CMM operators and support their development as they reach independence Operate CMMs directly until additional operators are onboarded Troubleshoot programming and inspection issues and communicate findings to quality and production teams Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation What They Need High school diploma required; AAS degree or CMM programming certification preferred 1–2+ years of PC-DMIS programming experience required Calypso experience is a plus Hands‑on experience in metal fabrication, machining, or related manufacturing required Defense, military, or aerospace background strongly preferred ITAR familiarity preferred Proficient with manual metrology tools including micrometers, height gauges, and similar instruments Experience inspecting machined parts, castings, and assemblies with GD&T callouts Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and troubleshoot without heavy direction Collaborative mindset with a genuine willingness to train others and keep learning US citizen or green card holder required #J-18808-Ljbffr
