Cook Join our team at Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, where you can enjoy a unique work environment that fosters inclusion and collaboration. We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our long-term care nursing facility in Syracuse, NY. Job Summary: As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in providing consistently accurate, tasteful, and cost-effective meals to our residents. You will prepare food according to standardized recipes, serve meals, and maintain a clean kitchen environment. Responsibilities and Duties: Prepare food as assigned according to standardized recipes Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and attractive and tasty Clean the kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures Perform other job-related duties as they become required Ability to comprehend and follow standardized menus and recreate per recipe Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) ServSafe Certification preferred or will become ServSafe certified after hired Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 60 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 60 pounds, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time What We Offer: Salary: $20 per hour Uniforms provided 401K Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Education reimbursement Direct deposit A workplace that fosters inclusion and collaboration About Us: Van Duyn Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is a 513-bed Skilled Nursing Facility located atop Onondaga Hill in Syracuse, NY.
