Details Telemetry unit caring for adults through geriatric patients Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implant), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues Unit has 36 rooms with an average daily census of 35 and a 1:4-5 patient ratio Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00 Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication Every other weekend rotation required Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed No call requirements Requirements Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required Epic charting experience required Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team activation Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA First-time travelers accepted Additional Information Deliver telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, medication management, and emergency response coordination Navy blue scrubs required Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th) Holiday coverage required per facility policy: one holiday worked if one falls during the assignment, both if two fall during the assignment, and two of three if three fall during the assignment Recognized holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day Local candidates accepted at the same rate Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler Travelers previously cancelled or not approved for return at a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying American Traveler Job ID P-736919.
