Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,690 – $1,820
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Role: Hospital Dietitian / Travel Dietitian (RD/RDN) – clinical nutrition, medical nutrition therapy (MNT)
• Setting: Hospital (Central and West Texas Division) — 350-bed acute care facility
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (8-hour days); 40 hours/week
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics (NICU coverage as needed)
• Team & Technology: 4 full-time RDs (including CNM), supportive senior staff, Meditech EMR, iPhones, IMobile app

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification
• Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the state of Texas (active license required)
• Minimum 1 year clinical dietitian experience; prior hospital experience strongly preferred
• Experience with adult and geriatric nutrition; NICU experience a plus
• Proficient in nutrition assessment, NFPE (nutrition-focused physical exam), and MNT
• Strong communication, collaboration, and multidisciplinary team skills (MDs, RNs, SLPs, diabetes educators, case managers)
• Flexibility to cover patients throughout the facility and support department initiatives

Key Responsibilities

• Perform nutrition assessments and nutrition-focused physical exams for 10–15 patients per day
• Develop and implement individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and diet modifications
• Write orders for oral supplements, enteral nutrition, and nutrition support as appropriate
• Document timely and accurately in Meditech EMR and communicate via IMobile app
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on wound care, diabetes management, and complex cases
• Provide coverage for NICU or specialty units as needed and participate in department quality initiatives
• Maintain best practices in clinical nutrition and contribute to patient outcome improvements
