About the Role

The Company is in search of a strategic and hands-on Vice President of Purchasing to lead the procurement function across its multiple manufacturing businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing an enterprise-wide purchasing strategy that aligns with the organization's business, operational, and financial objectives. This role requires a leader with a strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, commodity management, and contract negotiation, particularly within a complex, multi-site manufacturing environment. The VP of Purchasing will be expected to leverage the company's collective buying power, reduce costs, and enhance the quality and delivery of products. A key aspect of the role is to stay close to the market, anticipate risks, and capitalize on opportunities, while also building and maintaining a high-performing supplier network. Candidates for the Vice President of Purchasing position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, with a proven track record of delivering measurable cost and value improvements. Experience in automotive, engineered products, plastics, or tooling manufacturing environments is strongly preferred. The role demands a leader with a get-it-done mentality, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence across organizational boundaries. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree or professional certification being a plus. A firm but fair approach, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team are essential. The VP of Purchasing will also be expected to have a strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and quality management principles, and to operate within disciplined manufacturing quality systems.
