Plumbing Apprentice Southern Home Services is a residential HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical company that acquires, owns, and operates businesses around the United States. About this role We will provide on‑the‑job training so you can become proficient with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential settings. Your tasks will include handling tools, assisting with troubleshooting, following safety and code compliance procedures, and learning plumbing techniques to advance your career. Strong willingness to learn, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential. Responsibilities Locate and identify leaks Repair or replace pipes and components Select appropriate tools and equipment for each job Assist in preparing cost estimates for clients Support the plumber to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local plumbing codes Clean the job site after work is completed Address client queries Follow the plumber's orders and instructions Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent At least 18 years of age Ability to obtain required apprentice plumbing licenses or permits per local/state regulations Physical ability to perform demanding tasks: lifting heavy materials (50–100 lb), working in confined spaces, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, handling tools, and fine detail work Basic math skills for measurements and conversions Strong desire to learn, follow instructions, and develop plumbing skills Reliable, punctual, and committed to a regular work schedule Attention to detail and accuracyBasic safety awareness and commitment to safety guidelines Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and customers Team player willing to assist others and take direction Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and at least 3 years of driving experience Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime Physical Requirements Lift 50–100 lb and perform tasks involving climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, and using hand tools Drive and work in various environments including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawl spaces Stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear in person and by telephone Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch Be exposed to extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, or snow Southern Home Services will provide reasonable accommodations to allow an employee to perform essential functions Benefits We offer a rewarding career path with flexible schedules, professional and on‑the‑job training, and growth planning.
