This role offers an hourly rate of $25, with a contract from September 1, 2026, to May 28, 2027. Responsibilities • Assist in implementing individualized speech therapy plans under the guidance of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.
• Collaborate with teachers and families to tailor communication strategies that meet each student's unique needs.
• Conduct speech and language screenings to identify areas for improvement and track progress.
• Facilitate engaging and interactive therapy sessions that foster communication skills and confidence.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and adapt strategies as needed.
• Support classroom activities by integrating speech therapy techniques into daily routines and lessons. Qualifications • Valid SLP-A License for the State of Florida required.
• Bachelor's degree or minor in communicative disorders or a bachelor's degree and completion of prerequisites for communicative disorders.
• Background screening required through Miami-Dade County Public Schools (cannot begin working without background screening); Social Security card is required. Fingerprint fee is $97, and drug test fee is $35; both fees are paid by applicant to the testing facilities.
• Must attend four (2) staff trainings per year; additional training(s) may be required by the School District, including the Youth Mental Health & First Aid training.
• Required to volunteer at one event: the SFACS Walk on April 18, 2026.
