Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a team leader are essential in this role. Taking initiative, anticipating customer needs and crafting innovative solutions are keys to success!Responsibilities/Expectations:Provides technical expertise in automation for specialty, geographic area, or operational functionMakes decisions and solves unique and complex issues within the broader function, company and industry standard methodologiesApplies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of major projects while supervising and controlling costs and resources associated with projectsPrepares and delivers presentationsMaintains a strong understanding of industry and operational requirementsInterprets and anticipates internal and external business challenges and customer needs; improves products, processes or services and identifies solutionsCollaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needsServes as content lead and custodian for operations and maintenance requirements, guidelines and variance requestsSupports technical security initiatives and hardware refreshesTechnical specialist for additions, suspensions and deletions of approved manufacturer list for enterpriseOther duties as assignedEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering field from an ABET accredited college or university and eight (8) years engineering experience in natural gas, petrochemical or related industry Preferred: PE LicenseOther Requirements:Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skillsSophisticated knowledge in enterprise administration, maintenance, reporting and support for AssetCentre and other enterprise automation systems and softwareProven understanding of programmable logic control (PCI), distributed control (DCS) and human-machine interface (HMI) systems and programming protocols for operations supportA Day in the Life:In addition, you will develop and implement condition-based maintenance programs, enhance the reliability of automation systems, and assist with equipment outages and maintenance. Your responsibilities include reviewing management of change plans, supporting project design and automation systems, developing and delivering training programs, coordinating firmware and software testing, creating implementation plans, and performing due diligence. Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:Must be willing to travel up to 50%Other Requirements:Required: Extensive experience working with Allen Bradley PLC, FactoryTalk, AVEVA (Wonderware) DCSPreferred: Experience in one or more DCS systems: Yokogawa, Foxboro, and/or DeltaVWhy Houston?
