Sr. Physical Design Engineer

Our client, a leader in the semiconductor industry, is seeking a Sr. Physical Design Engineer to join their team. As a Sr. Physical Design Engineer, you will be part of the Physical Design Department supporting the engineering teams involved in advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Sr. Physical Design Engineer Location: Folsom, CA Pay Range: $80-$90/hr What's the Job?- Develop and implement physical design solutions for SoC devices from RTL, netlists, and design constraints provided by engineering teams.
- Utilize EDA tools, automation scripts, and other computerized design equipment to complete design tasks efficiently.
- Perform floorplanning, power grid design, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, timing closure, and physical verification.
- Analyze design quality, identify implementation issues, and verify that completed layouts meet performance, power, area, and manufacturability requirements.
- Review physical design methodologies, validate implementation flows, and support tapeout activities to ensure successful product launches.
- 10+ years of experience in physical design and layout/mask design for integrated circuits.
- Proficiency with EDA tools and automation scripting for physical design tasks.
- Strong understanding of SoC design processes, including floorplanning, placement, routing, and verification.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality design outputs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
