McAninch Sports Complex Cashiers

Job Function

Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the McAninch Sports Complex Cashier provides customer service and point-of-sale support for the City's outside sports complex. This position assists patrons, processes admissions and sales, prepares concession items, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for all facility users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are typical for this position, but are dependent upon the level of skill, ability, and experience of the individual. They are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Provides friendly, courteous, and professional customer service to patrons at the sports complex.
• Greets customers, answers routine questions, and assists with admissions and related services.
• Collects fees and processes transactions accurately; uses basic math skills to count money and make correct change.
• Prepares and serves concession food items in accordance with established procedures and food safety practices.
• Prepares daily cash, sales, or activity reports as required.
• Assists in the management and tracking of inventory.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the cashier station, concession stand, and surrounding work areas.
• Performs cleaning duties related to opening, operating, and closing the concessions stand, including counters, equipment, and public areas.
• Works cooperatively with supervisors and other staff to support smooth daily operations.
• Follows all City policies, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
• Performs other duties or assumes additional responsibilities as apparent or assigned.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Functions

Entry Requirements:

• Minimum age of fourteen (14) years.
• Ability to perform basic math functions, including counting money and making change.
• Ability to communicate politely and effectively with patrons and coworkers.
• Ability to work up to forty (40) hours per week as scheduled.
• Availability to work variable hours between approximately 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Hiring preference is given to applicants who are available to work consistently throughout the season.

Physical Requirements/Essential Functions

• Ability to speak, hear, and communicate effectively with patrons and staff.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to operate cash registers and concession equipment.
• Ability to perform light lifting and carrying associated with concession and cashier duties.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced public environment.
