Interventional Radiologic Technologist

Hartford Healthcare, a leading not-for-profit healthcare system in Connecticut, is seeking an Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will work closely with interventional radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team to deliver high-quality, image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will be responsible for preparing patients and procedure rooms, operating advanced imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy and CT, assisting with vascular and non-vascular interventions, and ensuring that all exams are performed safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols and radiation safety standards. The Interventional Radiologic Technologist will review patient histories, verify orders, obtain informed consent as appropriate to the role, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety and support patient comfort. You will position patients accurately, select appropriate technical factors, and monitor the patient and equipment throughout the procedure, anticipating the needs of the physician and responding quickly to changes in patient status. Meticulous attention to sterile technique, contrast administration, and documentation is expected, along with accurate completion of post-procedure imaging and image archiving within the PACS and EMR systems. This role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team, including participation in on-call, weekend, and holiday rotations as needed to support 24/7 interventional services. You will help maintain supplies, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support quality improvement and safety initiatives across the department.
