Job OverviewThe surgical technician will collaborate with the perioperative registered nurse, playing a vital role in delivering tailored, age-appropriate care to patients as part of the surgical team.
QualificationsRequired:
- Completion of a nationally or regionally accredited surgical technologist educational program
OR - Possession of a certified surgical technologist credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or another recognized credentialing body.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Successful completion of all orientation and departmental training programs with appropriate documentation.
- Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM
- 37.5 hours per week
- Ensure a safe environment that promotes positive patient outcomes.
- Monitor and respond to patients' physiological reactions during surgery and throughout the perioperative process.
- Work alongside the perioperative registered nurse to provide individualized, age-specific patient care.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon regarding instruments and equipment during procedures, facilitating smooth transitions when cases deviate from the norm.
- Adhere to all safety protocols to minimize fire risks in the operating room, including those related to laser and electrosurgery.
