Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring a CO or compact RN license and 2+ years of operating room experience.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit with 17 surgical suites in a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital,
• Average of 35 weekday cases and 10 weekend cases performed,
• Common case types include orthopedic, neurological, and general surgery,
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled Friday through Sunday, weekend shifts run 7a-7p,
• 36 guaranteed hours per week over a 13-week assignment,
• Uses EPIC EMR system,
• No floating, on-call, or weeknight/weekend call requirements,
• Holiday coverage required only if it falls on a regularly scheduled weekend shift,
• 30-minute call response time required,
• Scrubbing not required for RNs,
• Scrubs provided by facility,

Job Requirements

• Active CO state or Compact (NLC) RN license required, pending licenses not accepted,
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required,
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required,
• Trauma experience required,
• BSN not required for this position,
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration,
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility,

Additional Information

• Unit-specific orientation provided in addition to 12 hours of general orientation,
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely,
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position,
• Travelers hired into this facility are subject to a float radius policy and are expected to secure housing that allows for floating within the zone if required,
• Interview process includes a profile review followed by an interview with the unit manager,
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
