Project Engineer - Residential Construction

Job Overview As a member of our Wright-Ryan Homes division, you will join other experienced employee-owners in building some of Maine’s great homes. The Project Engineer will provide construction management support to the Wright-Ryan Homes project management team by overseeing all aspects of an assigned project, including planning, budgeting, and logistics. Job Requirements Support Project Managers by completing a variety of project management functions including material procurement and project manual development. Develop clear, complete understanding of the scope of construction projects by reviewing plans, documents, and proposed cost information including communication with owners, architects/engineers, vendors, and other project team members. Assist in the development of a sound project completion plan by establishing priorities, scheduling activities and timeframes, developing clear, measurable progress benchmarks, and assigning responsibilities to meet company obligations. Ensure timely construction project starts consistent with preconstruction plans and owner needs. Anticipate project engineering issues and make necessary adjustments, timely decisions, rapid responses to changes and problems, and resolve requests for information in a clear and timely manner, keeping the Project Manager informed. Assist with project closeouts by monitoring progress and ensuring that closeout procedures are started early and completed thoroughly at each step. Education, Experience, and Skills Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One to three years of related experience in the construction field. Understanding of the construction process with the ability to anticipate, identify, and address issues that impact performance risk and timing of project delivery. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications. Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team environment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage projects from start to finish with excellent attention to detail while working under pressure of deadlines. Ability to work in a clear, organized, and well documented manner to ensure compliance with contract documents, cost, schedule, and quality objectives. Ability to build long-term customer relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and technology (Word, Excel and Outlook) with experience in MS Project, ProCore, and Bluebeam preferred.
