Two years of recent CVICU experience is required.
The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical conditions requiring critical care.
The focus is on post-operative recovery and providing complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
Nurses must exhibit high levels of professional competency.
The stepdown unit focuses on the care and recovery of patients after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.
Both units are supported by a cardiovascular educator.
The team specializes in a patient-centered approach to care.
The aim is to make the patients' experience pleasant and comfortable in a safe and secure environment.
An associate degree in nursing is required.
AHA PALS certification is preferred if working in a pediatric unit.
