Radiology Technician: PRN- Weekend Days (every other weekend)

Position Overview : Performs x-rays for diagnostic purposes. Follows established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety. Candidate should have a thorough understanding of imaging equipment, x-ray procedures and have solid communication skills.

Essential Job Functions

Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed.
Operates radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position equipment and adjust controls to specific exam/
Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
Perform related administrative duties including completing necessary forms.
Retrieves radiologic orders and inputs data into hospital and radiology systems.

Requirements

Excellent communication skills on all fronts
Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Ability to work with patients of all ages (infant to geriatric).
Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
National registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
CPR Certification
Must be willing and able to work as part of a team.

Working Conditions

Work week may vary Sunday through Saturday.
Frequently exposed to noise and regular flow of hospital patients.
Subject to stress, frustration and fatigue
Maybe subjected to verbal abuse by patients and family.
Work is of medium physical demand, requiring bending, lifting, stooping, stretching and walking. Frequent moving and lifting of patients is required.
