Medical Assistant

Job Description

Triage & return patient phone calls after am & pm sessions
Document patient calls, emergency calls & rx refills in the patients Epic chart
Access the schedule the day before to prepare & gather pertinent patient information to assist the Physician and/or Nurse Practioner, ie: lab result, x-rays
Maintain back office supply inventory log for ordered/needed supplies
Maintain drug inventory and properly discard & document expired drugs
Welcome patient & perform preliminary physical tests; take and record vitals
Prepare patients for their visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the exam room
Document patients HPI and current medications
Restock exam rooms, set-up instruments and/or equipment between patients
Cleaning and sterilizing exam rooms & work stations after every patient
Explain & prepare patients for treatments/procedures
