Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

A Registered Nurse is responsible for performing the nursing process as a basis for patient care. RNs provide direction and oversight to both licensed and non-licensed staff. The position requires demonstrating compassion towards recipients of services, coworkers, and the surrounding communities through integrity, stewardship, empowerment, promotion of diversity, and professional excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' care needs, develop a plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and continually reassess care plans.
• Provide and coordinate nursing care for individuals and groups in collaboration with the physician.
• Educate patients and their families on care needs and provide milieu management.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for both patients and staff.
• Document, report, and verify all necessary information according to established policies and procedures.
• Monitor and report potential risks to patient safety to the physician.
• Create a customer-friendly environment by maintaining professionalism and positive relationships.
• Deliver care in various clinical settings to diverse patient populations.
• Function as a clinical leader, delegating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
• Review patient care protocols and participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Model the mission and values of the organization through professional appearance and communication skills.
• Support patients' spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical well-being.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health experience (required).
• Pediatric experience (required).
• BLS certification.
• Active State Registered Nurse license in Michigan.

Schedule

This position offers a shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with 40 hours guaranteed each week. There may be opportunities to pick up additional shifts, potentially working up to 48 hours depending on demand.
