Make a meaningful impact in an educational setting by supporting students as a Paraprofessional. Two contract positions are available: one working 1:1 with a nonverbal 8th-grade student with autism at the middle school level, and another supporting a group of high school students with IEPs. These roles require compassion, adaptability, and a readiness to assist with all aspects of student care and academics.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience or training as a Paraprofessional or Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
• Comfort providing personal care, including assistance with toileting and activities of daily living
• Ability to support academic activities under the guidance of teaching staff
• Flexibility and empathy when working with students of varying needs and abilities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is a plus

Key responsibilities:

• Offer direct support to students in classroom and daily activities
• Provide 1:1 assistance to a nonverbal, autistic student (middle school role)
• Support a small cohort of students with IEPs among the high school population
• Collaborate with educators and school staff to deliver tailored interventions and ensure student safety
• Encourage social interaction, participation, and independence for students
• Monitor and document student progress as part of the educational team

Details:

• 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Middle School: 8:30 AM–3:30 PM; High School: 8:40 AM–3:33 PM (unpaid 30-minute lunch)
• Assignment runs from late August to mid-June
