Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client mental health needs, strengths, and goals, followed by developing tailored treatment plans that foster growth and improvement. Utilize a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to deliver effective individual therapy sessions. Collaborate closely with clients to set measurable therapeutic goals and monitor progress through regular follow-up sessions, ensuring a responsive adjustment of treatment as needed. Provide teletherapy services for clients who prefer virtual interactions or struggle to access traditional therapy settings, ensuring that care remains accessible and consistent. Maintain meticulous and timely documentation to meet both ethical and regulatory standards while simultaneously reflecting the high standards of care we champion. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including training workshops, webinars, and peer consultation groups, to stay informed about emerging research and practices in mental health. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on individuals experiencing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related stress, and grief, particularly within the hospice care context. You will help clients cope with complex emotions surrounding end-of-life matters, enhance their overall well-being, and support their journey towards acceptance and healing. Qualifications A valid license in the state of New York as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a safe and open therapeutic relationship with clients that encourages trust and engagement. Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and sensitivity towards the experiences of clients, cultivating a non-judgmental space for healing and growth. Strong organizational and time-management skills essential for managing caseload effectively while adhering to administrative responsibilities. Preferred Experience A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, preferably working with individuals facing end-of-life issues and grief. Experience conducting individual therapy and implementing various therapeutic approaches tailored to meet client needs. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to manage client documentation and treatment tracking efficiently.
