  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during assembly and testing of equipment.
  • Build control panels from panel layout drawings and electrical schematics, ensuring correct component placement and wiring.
  • Cut, fit, and install conduit and other industrial wire ways, including EMT and rigid conduit, to support electrical installations.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to wire company products and control systems correctly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical circuits, including low-voltage and three-phase systems up to 480V.
  • Set up and operate digital test equipment, including data loggers and oscilloscopes, to verify system performance and diagnose issues.
  • Use personal tools to assist in assembling equipment and completing electrical and mechanical tasks as needed.
  • Perform panel building, panel wiring, and control panel assembly, including wire pulling, crimping, and wire harness assembly.
  • Apply knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and best practices when working with power transmission equipment and electrical assemblies.
  • Use measuring equipment and tape measures to verify dimensions and tolerances, ensuring assemblies meet specified requirements.
  • Perform basic engineering-related calculations such as loads, airflow in CFM, and electrical conversions (for example, watts to kilowatts) to support proper system setup.
  • Collaborate with other skilled trades, engineering, and production staff to meet quality, safety, and delivery requirements.
  • Travel occasionally as needed to support installations, testing, or customer-related activities.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to accurately interpret and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, electrical assembly, and control panel wiring and assembly.
  • Proficiency in panel building and panel wiring for industrial control systems.
  • Experience working with three-phase power, including 3-phase motors and 480V systems.
  • Skill in conduit work, including conduit bending, cutting, fitting, and installing EMT and rigid conduit.
  • Ability to perform wire pulling, wire harness assembly, and wire termination using proper crimping techniques.
  • Experience using digital test equipment such as data loggers, oscilloscopes, and other test instruments to verify electrical circuits.
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuits, low-voltage systems, and power transmission equipment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment math test, including algebra, geometry, percentages, and basic engineering calculations.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately within 1/16 of an inch and use measuring equipment proficiently.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in mechanical equipment assembly (preferred).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve both mechanical and electrical issues in an industrial setting.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) or National Electrical Code standards (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record (preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Industrial electricity or controls education such as an apprenticeship, degree program, or military training (preferred).
  • Experience with control panel wiring, control panel assembly, and control panel building in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings without assistance and understand dimensional tolerances (preferred).
  • Knowledge of power transmission components and best practices for mechanical and electrical assembly (preferred).
  • Familiarity with national electrical codes and industry standards related to industrial installations.
  • Comfort working with low-voltage systems, three-phase power, and 480V industrial applications.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills for both mechanical and electrical layouts.
  • Ability to perform conversions such as watts to kilowatts and calculate loads and airflow in CFM.
  • Experience using hand tools and personal tools safely and effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
